Save Lives: Partner With Us!
Galveston Firefighters Association partners with the Galveston Island Humane Society (GIHS) to bring you our 7th Annual Heroes & Hounds featuring Galveston’s own firefighters with adoptable animals from GIHS! Thanks to our dedicated firefighters, 100% of the proceeds benefit the work of the shelter.
An average of 2,200 unwanted and stray animals enter GIHS’ door each year. GIHS has been dedicated to promoting animal welfare and the protection and prevention of unwanted or homeless animals.
The Galveston Fire Department is the first paid fire department in the state of Texas. For over 130 years, GFD has been committed to providing the highest level of public safety services for the community, protecting lives and property.
Galveston Island Humane Society provides the services needed to save lives, just like our brave firefighters do every day!
